A Framework for Designing E-Commerce Platform of New Agricultural Products for Services

The paper presents intermediate results of a long-term project to develop an Internet platform that based upon supply chain and offers servicing assistance in new agricultural products possessed of high-tech content (NAP) For instance, Customers are able to use prediction tools online to get quotations for standard orders and may lookup the progress of larger projects. These services on demand are a natural extension of e-business. While trading goods over the Internet is almost standardized, the paper found that offering services shows some specifics in ordering and high-tech agricultural products which by now are not fully understood. They are mostly unique and consist of multiple parts, require more information exchange and the corresponding order specifications are more comprehensive. This leads to problems that require new approaches and solutions in areas like application structure, application development and integration, security and IT operations. This paper describes the vision, development and implementation of the platform as a customer experiences the process of ordering.
