Abstract :
A low noise and low cost YIG-oscillator has been developed. In order to achieve a good phase noise performance it has been simulated employing only the linear scattering parameters of the transistors. Measurements on self built prototype circuits showed a good correspondence with the calculation. The frequency range up to 12 GHz was achieved using only standard Surface-Mounted-Devices (SMD). This grants for a low cost design because the components are not expensive and the circuit is easy to produce.
