Abstract :
An adaptive array antenna with linear element arrangement (LEA) is already well-known, but its scanning range is very narrow. Therefore, we have recently studied an adaptive array antenna with circular element arrangement (CEA), because it can suppress interfering signals in a wide range, over 360 degrees. This paper describes the various array patterns of the least mean square error (LMS) adaptive array antenna with CEA, and its D/U characteristics, as derived by computer simulation. Comparison of the adaptive array antenna using CEA with those using LEA verifies the effectiveness of CEA.
