Abstract :
The capacity performance of VLF/ULF air-air and ocean-ocean near-field communication (NFC) links, consisting of transmitter and receiver coils connected via appropriate impedance matching network to source and load respectively, is evaluated based on equivalent circuit model of the system and Shannon´s information theory, at frequencies 1 kHz and 3 kHz respectively for different setups of impedance matching at transmitter and receiver. The analytical results provide good guidelines about the capacity estimation of a NFC link.
