Abstract :
During cytokinesis, the cleavage furrow contracts against the cell´s global stiffness. Here, we paid attention to the process of NRK cells (Normal rat kidney epithelial cells) cytokinesis by determining the morphology, mechanical property and biochemical index. We analyzed the role of myosin II-mediated constriction of the contractile ring in early cytokinesis, and used Yoneda and Dan´s equation to calculate the cleavage furrow radial stress. Finally, we analyzed the relation among several different measurement methods. Our research showed that multiple mechanisms operate in a single cell and the contractile force was not the main driving force to cytokinesis after Dx point.
