Abstract
A novel low profile Ultra Wide Band (UWB) antenna is proposed. The antenna is constructed from a top loaded monopole cylinder to reduce its height and a shorting cylindrical post and a ground sleeve to significantly increase its bandwidth. The antenna has an operating frequency bandwidth of 125% and it covers frequencies from 700 MHz to 3000 MHz. It provides a uniform gain radiation pattern in the horizon direction. The design, simulation and measurements results are presented below.
