Abstract
A reconfigurable sectoral antenna using an cylindrical frequency selective surface (FSS) structure is presented. The FSS structure is placed cylindrically around an dipole antenna. The cylindrical FSS structure is divided into two part-cylinder, which converts the omnidirectional radiation pattern of the dipole antenna into a directive pattern. The directive radiation pattern can be swept in the azimuth plane by rotating the FSS. The simulate-results show that a directive beam is obtained in the azimuth plane at 2.1 GHz with a gain of 10 dB.
