Abstract :
In this paper we discuss the detection of switch failures in reconfigurable antenna arrays. Changes in the antenna array´s electromagnetic behavior due to a switch failure are detected by measuring the S parameters of sensing lines embedded into the array substrate. Several prototypes are designed, developed and measured to validate the proposed failure detection methodology.
