Abstract :
Space charge build-up and spreading in polymers have been examined using the mirror-image method. This approach to dielectric characterization allows us to inject negative charges close to the surface of insulating materials and in a controlled manner without using electrodes. The object of this work is to find links between the structural and chemical parameters of polymers and the trapping and detrapping processes. Space charge properties appear to be dependent on the molecular structure, the microstructure and the chemical nature of the polymer
