Abstract
A shield testing apparatus was designed and constructed for low frequency magnetic field testing. The outer layers of the apparatus were designed for their shielding effectiveness. Two solenoidal coils were designed, constructed and tested. These became the core of the apparatus. Three different concentrations of ferrites and layered composites were synthesized and tested. Theoretical and experimental values were obtained and compared. The measured values differed somewhat from the theoretical expected values. Analyses and testing results are discussed in the light of the newer materials. Improvements are suggested for future studies
