Abstract :
Preparing for the next generation polar orbiting environmental satellite system, the NPOESS system is currently undergoing the design phase of the program. The NPOESS direct readout mission will service users in the field providing regional environmental coverage with two direct broadcast links, the high rate data (HRD) at 20 Mbps and the low rate data link at 3.88 Mbps. Contained within these two links are the suite of sensor data in order to generate 50 HRD and 29 LRD weather.
