Abstract :
An adaptive array architecture is presented which has improved the speed of convergence of the conventional general sidelobe canceller (GSLC). The adaptation makes use of a separation of the radiating element along perpendicular axes. The adaptation time is examined for several combinations of sign levels. It is also presented the effect of considering the introduction of real antenna in the array such as: steering vector errors due to known errors in the processor; random errors in the steering vector array due to either the misplacement of the radianting elements in the array (phase errors) or displacement from the isotropic behaviour in the gain of the radiating elements; a model for directional spatial noise in the elements of the array teas been also introduced. Finally an improvement in the algorithm to get the adaptation and a choice of a real antenna are also presented.
