Abstract :
We introduce a new volumetric transmission-line metamaterial unit cell capable of supporting two polarizations. This is accomplished by placing two separate transmission-line grids in the unit cell, one for each polarization. Through full-wave simulation we demonstrate dual-polarized negative refraction of a plane wave through an array of these unit cells. For either polarization we observe the same angle of refraction, demonstrating the same effective medium properties of the unit cell for both polarizations.
