Abstract :
This paper demonstrates the improved speed tracking performance of fuzzy based indirect field oriented control of induction motor drives in comparison to a conventional PI control in hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) application. Both types of controllers are subjected to changes in loading conditions and rotor resistance which is expected to vary with the high temperature of HEV drive environment. Results indicate that fuzzy controller exhibits faster speed response, higher acceleration with higher disturbance rejection capability for a more robust control desired for traction purposes.
