  • Abstract
It is an inevitable trend that more and more urban underground roads will be built in many big cities in order to solve traffic congestion problems. The underground roads can not only solve traffic problems on ground roads, increase vehicles operating speeds, save a lot of time for passengers and goods on the way, but also reduce the air and noise pollutions, save land use and advance cities continual development. The evaluation on indirect benefit of underground road system is quite different from ground road system on both impact factors and estimation contents. A new set of social benefits evaluation parameters for underground road projects is provided in this paper in order to distinguish feasibility of underground road projects.
