Abstract :
In the Multimedia and Mobile Agent Research Laboratory we have developed the V-team system, an agent-based multimedia collaborative environment to support virtual teams. V-team aims to provide facilities for managing virtual teams with fully customized collaborative services and network facilities that ensure a flexible and secure coordinated resource sharing. This paper proposes the team assistant, an agent that assists virtual team members to establish collaborative sessions (e.g. conferencing) using the session initiation protocol (SIP). The team assistant monitors a scheduling negotiation process guiding personal assistants to persuade each other for making decisions on users\´ behalf (e.g. when to "meet", duration and frequency) and enables various multimedia collaborative services and their configuration without requiring participants\´ direct intervention.
