Abstract
Superconducting direct current comparators are well established with low temperature superconductors and SQUIDs. We have begun investigations into HTS current comparator designs, with a readout SQUID also made from HTS. This work aims to produce a system capable of high accuracy noninvasive measurement of an ion beam current (in the range 1 /spl mu/A to 1 mA). Measurements of the current ratio accuracy are reported and preliminary experimental results on the measurement of ion beams are described.
