Abstract
A mode transducer is described which generates a whispering gallery mode output with a coaxial TEM mode input. The low-power device will be used for cold-test measurements of a high power gyrotron at 140 GHz. The basic idea, design, experimental model measurement data at 15 GHz, and the design of a new model for 38 GHz are given for the TE16,2 transducer using microstrip-slot antenna (MSSA) exciter.
