Abstract
We describe a measurement of the frequency of the transition 4d/sup 10/ 6p /sup 2/P/sub 3/2//spl rarr/4d/sup 9/ 5s/sup 2/ /sup 2/D/sub 5/2/ near 547.7 nm in neutral silver using laser spectroscopy of a collimated metastable atomic beam and frequency calibration with respect to iodine resonance lines, using laser heterodyne spectroscopy.
