Abstract :
In order to support the applications of modern service industry, it is indispensable to construct a heterogeneous network platform, which can provide open interfaces without consideration of the diversity of heterogeneous networks. In this paper, a novel system architecture based on network adaptation layer is given with corresponding modules. And then a capacity adaptation algorithm is proposed in capacity adaptation module to select the optimal network and terminal for users. A handoff algorithm is put forward in intelligent handoff module to implement seamless handoff process. Furthermore, a specific example based on stream media service is given in detail to illustrate the intelligent handoff mechanism, which is able to satisfy the requirements of the applications for modern service industry.
