Abstract :
Image processing plays an important role in the industrial and engineering fields. The paper is mainly about feature recognition based on borehole image process. With the technique of image segmentation and edge detection, two important geological structures—fractures and vugs on the borehole image were identified, and quantitative geometric parameters were defined. Several case studies were included to verify the applicability and the effectiveness of this method.
