Abstract
This paper describes ongoing research into the application of expert system techniques to the design of robust controllers. A robust controller design method which combines the method of inequalities and the Hinfinity loop-shaping design procedure is outlined. The expert system uses rules and frames to capture the essential knowledge of the design procedure. The design heuristics are presented and their ability to formulate closed loop performance functionals is discussed.
