Abstract :
On behalf of the IEEE Power Electronics Council I welcome you to APEC ´87, the second annual Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition. The aim of APEC is to provide a forum for subjects relevant and timely to practicing power electronics engineers, and to provide educational opportunities for those who wish to increase the breadth or depth of their knowledge of the field. I think the Conference Committee has put together a program that does an excellent job of meeting these goals.
