Abstract :
A novel implantable antenna using CMOS technology is presented in this paper for short range communications. It covers the Medical Implant Communication Services (MICS) band with a compact size of 2.77 mm3 (3 mm * 3 mm * 0.308 mm). Simulation results show that a wide 10-dB bandwidth of 22.5%, which covers 90 MHz from 360 MHz to 450 MHz, can be achieved with a centre frequency of 400 MHz.
