Abstract :
As wireless systems are prevalently deployed, wireless coexistence problems are arising as an inevitable issue. In particular, since the IEEE802.15.4 LR-WPAN, which has limited resources, is more vulnerable to effects of several interferences, it is necessary for development of an efficient interference-avoidance scheme. In this paper, we propose an efficient interference-avoidance scheme for LR-WPAN, in which a coordinator learns interference environment surrounding the WPAN, utilizing multi-channel/multi-frame, and thereby the assured communications are enabled through a clean channel. In addition, none of modifications in PHY is required for the proposed scheme utilizing logical multi-channels. Specifically, the proposed scheme can conserve energy by utilizing minimal effective channels for minimizing the overhead in multi-channel management without degradation of interference-avoidance performance.
