Abstract
This paper intends to evaluate and compare the many techniques and algorithms for packet loss correction and concealment used in robust voice over IP environments. For this evaluation we used the main standards available for evaluation of voice quality, such as MOS (medium opinium score) Ref.10 and PSQM (perceptual speech quality measurement) Ref.1 and its variations. As the main result of our work one can select and apply those algorithms to the construction of a voice over IP communications tool that gives to the final user a better quality, with emphasis to the situations when the network imposes packet loss and quality degradation.
