Abstract :
The authors examine approaches to process and device simulation based on parallel architectures and consider the suitability of massively parallel computers for this task. Particular attention is given to three-dimensional device simulation and three-dimensional simulation through Monte Carlo techniques. Preliminary computational experience shows that the large parallelism offered by these machines can be effectively exploited for device and process simulation.<>
