Abstract :
A novel dual-band patch antenna with wide band separation characteristics is proposed and designed in this paper. The proposed antenna employs a stacked structure and two slot-loaded arm patches to achieve dual band operation at 2.4GHz and 5.5GHz, with a high frequency band ratio of almost 2.4:1 and stable radiation pattern. Moreover, wideband characteristic of about 13% is obtained at the high band of 5.5GHz. Full wave analysis is performed to simulate the proposed antenna using commercial software HFSS, and numerical results show that the designed antenna is suitable for dual-band WiFi applications.
