Abstract :
Recent face recognition strategies tend to solve the face recognition problem from a 3D perspective. In this paper, we investigate a new 3D face image acquisition and capturing system, where we demonstrate our test-bed and the initial results for 3D face image feature characteristic and extraction. In our test-bed, we utilize the Dimensional Imaging´s standard DI3D system which is designed to capture high definition 3D surface images of the human face. The work is considered to be the first stage of a multi stage project on 3D face image recognition.
