Abstract
Switching regulators can now be placed directly on memory and CPU printed circuit boards. Small size is achieved through higher switching frequencies and hybrid packaging. However, "on-board" switching regulators can induce unwanted noise on printed circuit board etch. Methods for finding and reducing noise sources in a 150 Watt on-board regulator are described.
