Abstract :
A new interference estimation approach is presented for the underlay secondary spectrum sharing paradigm, which will increasingly become a necessity as a result of increasing wireless communication demands. Our scheme is especially designed to deal with very low communication between a smart antennas equipped secondary network and a primary (legacy) wireless network. Since only the primary antennas´ coarse probabilistic locations are known by the secondary network, an uncertainty area is considered for each antenna in terms of its intersection with secondary network radio coverage areas. With only few offline communicated coexistence constraints to be respected by both networks, a Monte Carlo simulation is used to statistically establish the coexistence scheme. Although computationally expensive as compared to our previous technique, the one presented in this paper now approaches the theoretical accuracy upper bound for this coexistence context, hence increasing the wireless coexistence worthiness.
