Abstract :
In this paper we present a new pipeline architecture for DNA microarray image processing. Taking advantage of the inherent delay in formation of DNA images, the processing tasks that are to be performed on the image (e.g., noise and small spot removal) are built into a six-stage pipeline. The suggested architecture has been designed and tested for a variety of microarray sizes. The structure has proved to be highly versatile, modular and expandable.
