  • Abstract
Web site co-citation is the URL of two Web sites cited in a paper. This is an exploring study to apply the co-citation in the analysis of academic Web sites, where Chinese top 100 universities´ Web sites are taken as an example in the empirical analysis. Through multi-dimensional scaling (MDS) analysis and Pajek tool, the relationships among Web sites are evaluated and visualized. The experimental results show that co-citation approach, despite some drawbacks, is efficient to discover the relatedness among Web sites. Furthermore, it possesses unique advantages and good development prospects.
