Abstract
The models of parallel camera arrays and converged camera arrays were built in this paper. Then The differences between two kinds of camera arrays in horizontal parallax and vertical parallax were analyzed. And the shooting distance threshold of converged camera arrays was obtained. In order to identify the result, the self-converging camera array, which can converge and focus automatically, was designed. Through analyzing the videos and images taken with the self-converging camera array in two different methods, we identified that the shooting distance threshold of converged camera arrays is 8m. This conclusion is instructive for the research on the acquisition of stereo images.
