Abstract :
According to European Union Directive 96/92 EU, on the liberalization of the electricity market, the EU members have separated their power generation, transmission, distribution and supply between several companies. Opening the national electricity market to competition has lead to the situation where several EU members have launched projects for updating their asset management software solutions. The current case study focuses on the same subject basing on the example of Eesti Energia AS, the electricity utility locating in the Republic of Estonia, which currently updates its asset management software of the electricity distribution company (OU Jaotusvork) and the main grid (OU Pohivork).
