  • Abstract
    A novel optimisation strategy for the design of microwave oscillators is introduced. One of the optimisation variables is replaced by the magnitude of a state-variable harmonic, and a circuit parameter is determined together with the circuit state by a Newton iteration. Degenerate solutions are thus suppressed, and the optimisation robustness and efficiency are greatly enhanced.
