Abstract :
A fuzzy logic controller design with self-tuning features for both the database and the rule base is proposed. The original rule base and the database of the controller are based on the designer´s experience, which may be heuristic and subjective. Real-time implementation of the controller using an experimental setup shows that the design performs very well for a complex nonlinear system. The example case considered is a DC-motor-drive four-bar linkage system, which is a representative transmission used in several machines. Real-time control was implemented using the C language. The hardware configuration is described
