  • Abstract
For enterprises adopting service-oriented architecture, the most critical part is to decide the right messaging pattern and right approach that can help them in analyzing, designing and developing best possible service-oriented architecture based solutions. Message patterns serve as a backbone of service-oriented architecture and they provide the high level of flexibility for interaction between processes and services. A lot of general message patterns exist which can be utilized in service-oriented architecture domain and can serve as a guide in making the system most flexible. This paper is intended to describe the need of identifying some of such patterns. Most importantly, it is intended to do the domain based analysis of two of these generalized pattern categories namely, “Message Type Patterns” and “Message Channel Patterns” and then indicate the problem domain that is best handled by each of them.
