Abstract :
The telephone routing over Internet protocol (TRIP) will be employed in the future voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) networks to solve the problem of gateway location. This paper describes the technical implementation of TRIP on soft switches and explains the process of testing the solution. This testing is currently underway at the UAB Center for Telecommunications Education and Research.
