Abstract
A derivation of the fourth order correction to the small slope theory of thermal emission from the sea surface is presented. It is shown that this correction has the form of a four-fold integration over a product of two sea spectra for a Gaussian random process sea. A sample result demonstrates that agreement with physical optics is achieved in the large scale surface limit.
