An Ontology-Based Report Designer Model

The report designer is the core part of flexible report systems which provides the decision support to information systems. In this paper, we propose an ontology-based report designer which provides a flexible mechanism to generate different reports. The paper gives the principle of report designer and details the formal description of report designer ontology. At last we give an application instance which uses this model, the practice proves that the report designer model can enhance the development efficiency and reduce the costs.
