Abstract :
This work studies the modal decomposition of the current density excited by a delta gap source on boxed layered stripline structures. This study has been specifically applied to analyze the excitability of complex modes in this type of structures and has confirmed the physical significance of these modes. It has been also found that complex modes are always excited as combination of a pair of complex and negatively conjugated complex modes.
