Abstract :
The behavior of the SSM/I-derived brightness temperature of snow-covered terrain vs. dry snow water equivalent and land use is examined for the winters of 1996-97 and 1997-98 in Finland. The effect of several factors to the response is investigated. A method is proposed to correct the brightness temperature variation due to temperature changes
