Abstract :
A compact folded printed monopole tag antenna loaded with an inductor for passive UHF RFID applications is presented. By introducing the inductor two important objectives are fulfilled; first, reduction of the size of the antenna by 41.2 % compared to a conventional printed monopole antenna; second, adding the capability to tune the resonance frequency. It is shown through fullwave simulations that by proper adjustment of the inductor values the tag can operate at various UHF RFID bands.
