Abstract
The authors suggest an approach to scene understanding by proposing a memory model that contains the knowledge necessary to understand a scene. Fuzzy set theory is used for knowledge representation and reasoning. Recognition processes using the memory model are provided. A system called SEE has been developed on the basis of this approach, and examples for natural color scenes are given
