Abstract
With the hypothesis that the overlaying soil deposits form three filters, namely the bedrock filter, first soil filter, and second soil filter, a new non-white noise model for earthquake ground motions (EGM) is derived with resorting to Laplace transformation (LT). The statistical characteristics of different white noise and non-white noise models for EGM are presented to demonstrate the advantages of the present spectral model.
