Abstract :
In this paper the research and design is presented to a key technology of Automatic Identification System (AIS) ship borne device to solve the problem that the AIS core chip is dependent on importing. The paper is involved in the detailed analysis of the theory, the composition of AIS system and the functions of the AIS device. With the feature of the Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) which is high speed processing, short product cycle and low product cost as well as the feature of Verilog language and C language which fits well in the work of software and hardware circuit programming, the paper introduces a on-chip system (SoC) as the core part of the AIS device via a MicroBlaze processor, and puts forward a method of coherent demodulation. The experiments show that the modulation and demodulation functions of AIS signal can be achieved by the SoC chip.
