Abstract :
Image fusion is a very important research field in remote sensing. Recently developed contourlet transform is a new method of multiscale geometric analysis, it can offer a much richer set of directions and shapes, and thus it is more effective than wavelet in capturing smooth contours and geometric structures in images. This paper proposed a novel modified contourlet transformation method which is more applicable in image fusion, the method combined the idea of contrast and atilde trous to realize the multiscale decomposition of images. Then this new modified contourlet transform was uses to develop an algorithm of fusing panchromatic and multispectral remote sensing images. Experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm can obtain preferable results.
