Abstract
A novel multiband FSS based on Y-loop element has been analyzed using FDTD method. The simulated results show that the proposed FSS has the advantages of low insertion loss in pass-band, good frequency selectivity and stability of bandwidth. Its performance is very stable at various incident angles but sensitive for different polarization state at Ku-band for the lack of symmetry. Besides, there is no other resonance frequency from 10 GHz to 40 GHz expect the desired frequency (12.5 GHz and 35 GHz). It indicates that the novel multiband FSS has eliminated the parasitic resonance compared with the Y-loop fractal element.
