Abstract
Summary form only given. Many perspectives on the impact of neural networks on fuzzy logic inference exist. However, the author has focused on four important categories: (a) pattern recognition, (b) formation of fuzzy rules from data, (c) refinement of fuzzy membership functions, and (d) implementation of fuzzy inference systems using neural networks. The advantages of using neural networks for implementing fuzzy rules have been discussed and examples of their applications are demonstrated
